Money Lies: 9/11

Cut out layout & finished piece photo
Money Lies piece was produced from beginning's metal class in the summer of 2009. This money sandwiched brooch expresses abstract ideas of money, power, and injustice. The project was using found object: American currency.

This piece expresses the frustration of government corruption, unfair bureaucracy and stereotypes that September 11 has caused: a tragedy not only affected American victims but also non-Americans, immigrants, foreigners and the future Americans who has been living in the states for generations. This piece illustrates the difficulties that Americans/Immigrants are facing due to the misjudgment, stereotypes and the bias ideas that our society has caused by this event.

This project was very fun, not to be taken too seriously though but at the same time it has a meaning to ponder about!
